Receipts Tab - Revenue Collections

The Revenue Collections section contains fields that pertain to how receipts should be handled.

  1. The UM Payment Edit Report Sort Order field determines the order in which payments will appear on the edit listing for payments. The default value is Receipt Number; the other option is Account Number.
  2. The UM Payment Edit Report Detail field determines the level of detail that will be included in the report output:
    • Receipt Information. This summary version of the report will show a single row for each receipt in the payment batch. This output will make it easier to reconcile the receipts received against the receipts entered. Select the Receipt Number sort option in the UM Payment Edit Report Sort Order field to produce the report in receipt number order.
    • Receipt and Spread Information. This detail version of the report will show the receipt row as well as a charge category breakdown of how the receipt amount was obtained. This is the default value.
    • Both. Both versions of the report will be sent to myReports.
  3. The Allow Manual Override of Receipt Spread check box, if selected, will display the Receipt Spread icon next to the Amount field on the Revenue Collections receipt. If a partial amount is entered in the Amount field, the system divides up the amounts based on the system settings defined on this page. Clicking the icon will launch a pop-up that allows the user to override the charge category maintenance payment spread. The icon is disabled if the Allow Manual Override of Receipt Spread check box is not selected.
  4. Select the payment code to be used by Revenue Collections Other Receivables feature from the Default Utility Standard Payments Payment Code field. All available payment codes are listed in the drop-down including those for eSuite and other automated types of payments. However, the code selected should be the one your organization's cashiers use for processing back office payments. A selection in this field is required.
  5. In the Default Utility Deposit Payment Code drop-down, select the payment code that should be used by the Revenue Collections Other Receivables feature for utility deposits. All available payment codes are listed in the drop-down. In the most typical configuration your organization will have only one. In situations where there is more than one, select the payment code that is used for processing back office transactions. A selection in this field is recommended to ensure the proper functioning of the Other Receivables feature. A warning message will be displayed if it is left blank.
  6. In the Default Utility Bad Debt Payment Code drop-down, select the payment code that should be used by the Revenue Collections Other Receivables feature for bad debt.
